Submissions

Submission Information:

Please note that ACCA represents the following genres:

Graphic Novels: ACCA is looking for graphic novels for early readers through adult. Social issues, school stories, creative nonfiction, friendship tales, queer romance, clean teen romance, adventure, mystery solvers, books with puzzles, memoir for all ages, and selective fantasy and sci-fi. At this time ACCA is looking mainly for graphic novel projects from author/illustrators, not script-only submissions. We are happy to consider graphic novel artists who don’t have story pitches, however.

Middle Grade: family stories, historical fiction, mystery, BIPOC, strong voice, fresh fantasy, creative nonfiction, adventure, neurodivergence, animal stories, folklore retellings, retellings of classics, queer stories, stories by and about historically marginalized and under-represented communities.

Young Adult and New Adult: romance, romantasy, slow burn, contemporary, rom com, novels in verse, retellings, humor, fantasy

Picture books: big ideas, sweet stories, clever humor, and very creative nonfiction

Illustrators: ACCA is looking for illustrators interested in storytelling in multiple formats (picture books, graphic novels, interior chapter book illustrations, covers), and in illustrating their own and others’ stories.

What ACCA is Not a Good Fit For:

  • Nonfiction for the adult market

  • Literary fiction for the adult market

  • Sci-fi and fantasy for the adult market

  • Script-only graphic novel pitches (except from published comics writers)

  • Horror
