Sung yoon Choi

Sung yoon Choi is an author and illustrator born in Seoul, South Korea. She moved to NYC to attend the School of Visual Arts, where she earned an MFA in Illustration as Visual Essay. Her published works include American Widow (2008, Villard), Mission in a Bottle (2013, Crown Business), Still Life Las Vegas (2015, St. Martin’s Press), and Ink & Blood (set to be published in 2027). Her illustrations have been featured in The New York Times and New York Magazine. She is also the co-author of Korean American Cooking Comics, an ongoing mini-comic journal series that she produces with her partner. Sung yoon currently lives in Los Angeles, California, with her partner and their two cats.
